Copacabana, Bolivia!

We have left Peru and are now in beautiful Bolivia.

It was a bit of a task to get here however. We took the bus from Cusco to Puno (still in Peru) and then were to switch buses to Copacabana in Bolivia. We arrived in Puno at 4 in the morning and at 7am, discovered that our bus to Copacabana was not to go anymore because of a strike at the border. People were throwing rocks or something and not letting anyone through. So we find ourselves in Puno, not the most attractive place, for a day until we are able to cross the border. Puno is on Lake Titicaca, which is a big tourist destination, but we hear the Lake on the Bolivian side is much nicer. At keast we hope so, because Puno is not impressive.

We left the following day to Copacabana and are here now with Jon Wilson. Really pretty little place, and we have a wicked hostel looking out onto the lake. We took a sailboat out on the water yesterday - the most primitive sailboat we have ever seen. The sail is a wreck, and the mast and boom are handcrafted wood that seemed to be bending in the wind. We didn´t make it out too far before heading back in. The wind was fierce, we were afraid the sail would rip, and Cam was almost thrown into the lake! It was quite an adventure, and we were glad to make it in ok.

Today we´ll go to the Isla de Sol on a boat and check out some ruins there.

Tomorrow we´re off to La Paz!
