Huaraz!

semi-overcast 13 °C

The bus ride to Huaraz was fantastic. We had seats on the 2nd floor of the bus in the front row panoramic seats! The road wound around huge mountains with many small shanty towns spotted along the valley. The road was very bumpy with many pot holes and fallen rocks. It was also an interesting drive out of Lima seeing all of the shanty communities and villages built into the sides of sandy mountains. We are now in the town of Huaraz which is really neat feeling much homier and relaxed than Lima. Like a south american whistler with lots of outdoor activities and guides. Tomorrow we leave on a 4 day trek into one of the most popular trekking places in the world, the Cordillera Blanca. We will post pictures of this when we return! Hope to hear about what is going on back in Canada! Bye
